On 30 and 31 January 2023 the international conference GENUINE 2023 - Global Strategy for the Conservation and Use of Fruit Tree Genetic Resources will be held at the University of Sannio. The conference at the Auditorium of Sant'Agostino, in Vico I Trescene, in Benevento, will be attended by ministerial and regional institutions and leading exponents of the international panorama of research in the field of agricultural biodiversity.

The International Conference was created to enrich and enhance the DiCoVaLe Project, which has as its objective the conservation and enhancement of plant genetic resources (RGV) at risk of extinction and indigenous to the Campania Region, understood as woody plant species of agricultural interest, fruit trees indigenous and/or endangered. At the moment, important and excellent results have been obtained within the project concerning the characterization (morphological, agronomic, biochemical and genetic) of about 500 RGVs and which will soon be officially released. At the same time, the project is providing for the gradual transfer of the results to the public, and here, with the GENUINE 2023 conference, the aim is to create a fruitful exchange of ideas, approaches and multidisciplinary experiences on an international table of high institutional and scientific value.

The conference is open to citizens, social, political, economic and cultural organizations.
